Description
Combining a unique tonewood selection with their most popular body style, the Taylor 214ce DLX Ziricote Special-Edition acoustic-electric guitar is a player's dream. Whether you prefer delicate fingerpicking, aggressive single-note playing or simple strumming, you'll find the tone, the looks and the build quality you're looking for, as well as stunningly good looks in this stylish instrument.
A Taylor Original Body Style
First introduced in 1994 by Bob Taylor, the Grand Auditorium body style quickly became Taylor's most popular body style. The Grand Auditorium strikes a balance between the flatpicking-favorite dreadnought and fingerstyle-favored Grand Concert body styles. With a clear, articulate voice that maintains plenty of body, and that responds beautifully across the instrument's entire dynamic range, this body style is brought to a new level of looks with the stylish Venetian cutaway and sunburst finish, along with the carefully selected tonewoods found in the 214ce DLX Ziricote.
Tonewoods Chosen for Dynamics and Richness
Taylor has been one of the builders at the forefront of the search for sustainable tonewoods, as well as in finding woods that provide unique looks. Ziricote, used in the back and sides of this special-edition 214ce DLX, is one of those woods. Native to Mexico and Central America, it is one of the most striking visually of currently available guitar woods, and can rival the no-longer-available Brazilian rosewood in appearance. Ziricote is renowned for sparkling, some say luminous, treble and a rich, deep bass. These characteristics are enhanced by the choice of a torrefied, solid Sitka spruce top for its quick attack, crisp articulation and broad dynamic range.
Innovative Electronics for Studio-Grade Tone Anywhere
The 214ce DLX Ziricote boasts Taylor's Expression System 2 (ES2) pickups and a custom "pro-audio-grade" preamp. This combination delivers a pristine, articulate and highly responsive amplified sound. The unique behind-the-saddle pickup design ensures that every nuance of vibration is captured, preserving the guitar's full dynamic range. Whether played through an amplifier or directly into a soundboard, the authentic tonal quality is faithfully reproduced. Conveniently located on the upper shoulder of the guitar, the user-friendly volume, active bass and treble controls are easily accessible.?
A Taylor Tradition of Innovation
The Taylor reputation for build quality is second to none. Their technological innovations, beginning with the development of a neck joint that vastly improved the consistency of fit and finish from guitar to guitar, have helped to revolutionize how acoustic guitars are designed and built. Across their entire range of guitars, players will find an amazing feel and playability that makes every Taylor a true lifetime investment.?
